Surface area of a saucer is greater than the cup. More the surface area more there will be exchange the heat with the surrounding to reduce temperature of tea as well as more quantity of tea will enter in the mouth in one sip in case of saucer.

Rate of cooling is directly proportional to the surface area. More surface area of the saucer helps in cooling the tea much faster in compare to that of in cup.
